We worked on two heart-breaking stories of DWI tragedies for the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT). The first is Mother Daughter, a warning about opioid addiction and dangerous circumstances.  I still tear up when I hear that girl call out to her mom. The second is yet unreleased due to circumstances unrelated to the actual work. We created the car crashes as well as the pill and smoke effects.

Under the Hood

Particle Volume

A standin CG model was used to create the volume in which to fill with various types of pills. Low res geometry was used to speed up calculations, and then  replaced with high res models at render time.
